The Indonesian Parliament’s legal drafting units encounter many challenges in organizing the drafting of proposed laws, writing the laws in clear, concise and understandable language, and finding the most effective way to work with Parliament members to translate ideas into laws. Indonesian Health Professionals/Care for Low Birth Weight Newborns

Low birth weight is a major contributor to infant mortality and in Indonesia is thought to cause around 1/3 of newborn deaths in the first month on life. Low birth weight babies are especially vulnerable to life-threatening infections and also prone to extreme heat-loss and hypothermia. One simple method to effectively care for low birth weight newborns is called “Kangaroo Mother Care” (KMC). More…
