Irfan Prasetyo, Educational Administration at Michigan State University
Posted January 10th, 2010 by adminIrfan Prasetyo’s job at the national level in the Ministry of National Education is to coordinate and manage education programs for high school . He writes that there are many complex problems in education in Indonesia, both in terms of access and quality of education. Irfan studied economics at the Islamic University of Indonesia and then finance at Gajah Mada University. Because his background is not in education, he needs to learn about the nature of education, education policy and education finance.
He has visited many provinces throughout Indonesia to monitor education programs and believes that it is key to set up policy, implementation and financial management to solve the problems. He also wants to share knowledge and experience on education with people from different countries, especially on Special Education needs.
Irfan is now studying K-12 Educational Administration at Michigan State University. The program is designed to develop leadership for powerful and equitable teaching and learning.
