Program Description:
- PhD or Master’s degrees in Economics, Finance, Management, Accounting, Insurance, Agriculture, Agribusiness, or Public Policy.
- Bachelor’s degrees in-country in agricultural economics or agribusiness
Target Participants
- The objective of the placements is to equip the Indonesian government officials, private sectors, business associations, research centers, and university faculty and staff with professional-level human resource and educational knowledge needed to carry out the duties in the field of economics or related fields.
- Candidates must have good academic and employment track records and promising future in government, private sector or civil society organizations.
- Bachelor’s degree candidates must be from Eastern Indonesia and must have 3 years work experience or a D3 degree in a relevant field
- In the support of capacity building development within the public and private sector, preference will be given to study for Master’s and PhDs in the U.S. Preference will also be given to areas of study and participants’ institutions that contribute to Indonesia’s development along the line of USAID/Indonesia Economic Growth strategy aimed at increasing employment through improved policies and increased production of selected high-value agricultural crops.
- In addition, special consideration will be made for participants from Papua or other parts of eastern Indonesia to earn their degrees either domestic and/or the U.S., depending on the level of their English language proficiency.
